9am Group Warmup

10am Youth Day Horn Choir rehearsal

11am Featured Artist Masterclass with Jennifer Montone (Principal horn, The Philadelphia Orchestra)

12pm – lunch break

1:00 – 3:30pm Exhibitor booths are open and all Symposium events during this time are open to attendees, including: Featured Artist Masterclass with Gail Williams (Northwestern University, ret. Chicago Symphony), Contributing Artist Recital, and 3 special-topic lectures. 

2pm-3:30pm Youth Day Solo Competition Final Round (not open to the public)

4:00pm Featured Artist Concert  with Jennifer Montone recital, 2nd and 3rd place Youth Solo Competition Winners & the Youth Day Horn Choir performance.

5:30-7:30 optional Attend the IHS Banquet (tickets are purchased during Youth Day registration)

8:00pm optional attend NU Corno Ensemble 10th Anniversary Concert, a professional large horn ensemble performing several selection including movements of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition!

Registration

Children aged 12-17 and their chaperones are encouraged to join us on June 27th for Youth Day!

Activities will include morning group warm-up, Featured Artist masterclass, horn choir rehearsal, time to visit the exhibitor booths, solo competition, and participant concert. The winner of the solo competition will be invited to perform at the closing concert of IHS 57 on Saturday, June 28th. 

$75 per child
$25 per chaperone
